Oldies Hits From the Beatles

The oldies are classified as music from the period of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Most oldies classified under the genres of pop, rock and R & B. There was a lot of progressive musical movements, including Motown, inspired by British Invasion, Doo Wop and styles, fashion, community, and a way of life.

An oldies band that never went out of fashion was the Beatles. Their music has inspired the world for years, the hype begins with the BritishInvasion. The British Invasion was a group of bands from England, whose music was very popular in the United States. More recently, video game Rock Band came out with a Beatles edition. Rock Band allows users to do, as if they too play in the band and music to the game controls like a guitar, bass or drums. The Beatles edition of Rock Band is a compilation of all their greatest hits.

The Beatles fame lasted a span of ten years until the 1960s1970s. The band originated in Liverpool and consisted of members John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. They were called with the nickname, "The Fab Four from Liverpool." They were not only a success in England, but her fame and fortune reached the United States.

The RIAA, Recording Industry Association of America, says that they have sold more albums than any other band or solo artist in the United States of America (http://www.riaa.com). The Beatles produced Number OnesHits that are still popular today and are available on Internet radio and traditional radio to be heard.

From 1962 to 1976 they had 42 number one hit singles. A list of all the number one hits on The Beatles Number One Hits single site (http://www.bopped.com) are found. Their first hit in 1962 was called, "Love Me Do". This song was first popular in England and not high on the Number One chart in the United States until 1964.

In 1963, she had 5 chart topping hits. One of themore memorable hits of this year was "Twist and Shout". It was not just a great song, but it was fun too accompanying dance movements. They almost doubled the amount of number one hit singles in 1964 with nine songs. Knowing a memorable song in this year, most people and can be heard on oldies radio station is "A Hard Day's Night".

They have continued to dominate the charts with eight singles in 1965. Thereafter, the level of the individual began to be leveling off. Between 1966 and 1969, they tookonly produced four number one albums per year. Success for the Beatles started to slow down in the 70s, while only two hits in 1970 and one in 1976.
