There are several good sources for genealogical research in York County, Pennsylvania, if you have no objection while the leg work of the hands-on research. The bulk of the information is available around the City of York is located. In this article, the physical locations for research, are not on-line resources. As in most districts, Pennsylvania, there is not an overwhelming amount of material in one place, nor in the municipality or local libraries. To find more material if the following resourceshave been exhausted, the research at the Pennsylvania State Library and Archives Pennsylvania, located in Harrisburg, will be carried out not far from York.

You have Court Records from 1749, including complaints of unpaid debts, malpractice actions, mortgages --Foreclosures, personal injury, equity actions, district justice civil case appeals, license suspension appeals, administrative agency appeals, sentencing practices family law matters such as divorce, child custody and protection from abuse cases and Liens against real estate and personal property.
York County recorder of deeds, administrative center, 28 East Market Street, York, PA 17401-1590, 717-771-9644. Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 Clock, Monday-Friday.
They have landRecords from 1749 and some other records, including deeds, mortgages, releases, easements (rights-of-way), subdivisions, restrictions, notary bonds and commissions, military discharges, public and elected county officers.
York County Heritage Trust / York County Historical Society, 250 East Market Street, York, PA 17401, 717-848-1587. Opening times are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 Clock, Tuesday-Saturday. These two organizations have united. They have over 7500 name files, with excerpts fromWeddings, engagements and obituaries, short genealogies, family group and pedigree sheets and copies of documents and photos. Each file name has five tabs, extracts from church records, cemetery records, will contain the books that pre-1800 taxes, and some other sources. They have a large library of family published books published indexes, local and church histories and expenditure of genealogical publications.
York County Archives, 105 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17,402;717-840-7224. Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 Clock, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
They also have some duplicate information at the above locations. You have files estate, Marriage Records, Naturalization Records, taxes, Birth Records, Bond books, Clerk of Court dockets, Death Records, and many other records.
York County Library System. There are many local libraries in York County, but most have very little genealogical information. Some have local historyInformation or newspapers on microfilm. Some of them have uncataloged items, long experienced in advance. Two of the better libraries, check-out:

Closed on Tuesday morning at this time. Not much there yet, but growing. It is worthwhile if you are in the vicinity. You have access to all software-LDS, family files, reference books, olddocuments on microfilm, etc.
